Just Give Me A Reason

As an older sister and babysitter, I am often able to convince my younger siblings to do things, especially the baby. Recently, the baby contracted a pneumonia, and therefore has been forced to take 'yucky' medicine. the first night she had to take the  medicine she was terrified of it, and refused to take it. My stepmother had tried for a half hour with no luck. Though my stepmother tried, as time went on the baby began to cry louder. After a while, I finally decided to try to help her. I gave the baby a tight hug and promised her everything would be okay. She stopped crying, but still refused to actually take the medicine. I then made her a promise, if she took the medicine I would give her a 'surprise'. Since she is four years old curiosity took over, and of course she agreed to take the medicine. I kept my promise and ended up giving her a piece of gum, which she absolutely loved. Thankfully, though her pneumonia is not gone, she is feeling much better.

The A Team

Even with the struggles I face, I have accomplished many things this school year. One of my greatest accomplishments has been maintaining straight A’s throughout the first semester. While I have always been an honor roll student, math and science have always been a struggle for me. Despite the effort i would put into these classes, I would always end up with B’s. Over the past few months I have developed a better understanding for these subjects. My teachers have been vital to the success I have experienced this year, and have done an amazing job at simplifying information that I otherwise would not have understood. I take school very seriously and am very proud of myself for my good grades. These accomplishments have lead me to aspire for more.

Trouble

The OGT test I feel most unprepared for is math. Math has always been my weakest subject, it is the only class I struggle to maintain good grades. I struggle in math because I have a hArd time remembering even the simplest of formulas. Another reason I suck at math is find it extremely uninteresting and therefore can not focus on the subject. To attempt to prepare for this test I plan to practice on the OGT website as well as do more practice from the book. Because I have trouble remembering formulas I will focus on working on problems that deal with using formulas so when it comes time to take the test I will not forget them. Hopefully I will be able to use the next few weeks to my advantage.
