Mr. Lonely

Everyone, at some point in there life, has felt the sting of rejection, be it from friends or family. One of the most common cases of rejection occurs within groups of friends. One member of the group will start to feel like they don't fit in as much as they should, or that the others leave them out some times. This is a very hard thing to go through because when this person may feel like they have no one to turn to. As previously mentioned rejection can also occur between an individual and their family. An example of this could be something such an individual telling their family that they are homosexual, or even something as simple as them  not feeling 'good enough' because they do not fill their parents expectations.

The Kill

In a horror or mystery style book I believe that it is most important that the author focuses on action. By focusing on action a reader is able to keep the readers attention throughout the book. Also, while reading Frankenstein I found that the most intriguing parts take place during high action parts. One example of an action part that grabbed my attention in this story was when Victor first brought the monster to life. This part was interesting to me because it left me wondering what would happen between the monster and Frankenstein. Another part that caught my attention in the story was when Victor was informed about the death of William and then the pending death of Justine. Williams death interested me because I wonder if it truly was the monster that had murdered William, which lead to another question- why? Justine's death had me on the edge of my seat, wondering if she would be put to death for crimes that she did not commit. *Spoiler* When she was put to death I found myself highly upset with the situation. While horror and mystery style books can be very interesting with supernatural and atmospheric elements, I do not believe they are totally necessary to make a good, interesting book, while I do believe the action is needed.

Fairytail

If I were to write a mystery I would probably go about it in a similar way. As Shelley did, i would give the reader a glimpse as to what happens at some further down point in the book, however I would most likely try to make it a more intense scene, to help me draw the reader in. I would introduce the main character, the situation that was being dealt with in this particular scene, and then I would go back and write all the scenes that lead up to that scene. Of course after I had gotten back to the scene in the beginning of the book i would then write the conclusion to the story, and then THE END.

In Mary Shelley's Frankenstein, she begins the story by introducing an explorer named Robert Walton and a stranger. Walton feels lonely on the voyage because he is smarter then everyone else and he has trouble connecting with is shipmates because of this. In letter four Walton describes seeing a gigantic creature in the middle of the frozen ice and then he later rescues a man whom was on his death bed. the man he rescued is the stranger. The stranger is smart and Walton seems to feel a connection with him almost instantly. As days pass the bond between Walton and the stranger grows, until eventually the stranger decides he wants to share the story of his life with Walton. Walton decides to write the story down because he wants to be able to read it in the future. The strangers story becomes the story of Frankenstein.

Breakaway

Over spring break I plan to break away from all of the stress I have been feeling over the past few weeks. Since starting my job, I have lost a ton of sleep while trying to balance school and work. Because of the extra activities I participate in (Rock Lab and TCMN) I can spend around nine hours at school just to go straight to work for another four hours.When I finally arrive home around nine o'clock, I am all tuckered out and ready for bed. However, when I get home I do not get to go to sleep- I am stuck completing all the homework that will be due the next day; being a straight A student is not an easy task. Over spring break I am hoping to unwind a little bit and take a break from all the work. Sadly, my teachers were slightly inconsiderate and decided to assign work for me to do over break and I still am scheduled to work. I do not even get a break from school since I am still expected to be at TCMN on Tuesday and Thursday. Even during break I do not get a break, although I suppose that is just part of growing up.

Oh No!

I have a responsibility to go to school, to work, and to babysit, all while maintaining good grades, and sometimes I find it very difficult to handle. An example of my overwhelmingly impossible schedule would be this week. On Tuesday, I have school 8-3:50, then I start work at 4:30 until 8:30. Wednesday I will be at school from 8 until 4 because i have Rock Lab, but I also have to go to work at 4 until 8:45. Thursday my school schedule is the same as Tuesday, but after school I will be going to a Demi Lovato concert in cleveland, and god knows when I'll get home from that... Luckily, I will be getting out of school at 2:40 on Friday, but as soon as I get home I have to babysit until 10 Saturday morning, and then i have to go to work at 11. Saturday I get off at 3, but then have to be ready for my baby sisters birthday party at 4. Though i am still awaiting an outcome, I suspect that after factoring homework I will probably just end up crying.

Carry On My Wayward Son

One time a serious promise was broken was when Dean broke his promise not to bring Sam back to life again  on Supernatural. Dean and Sam have been in a topsy-turvy relationship since season one and have on several occasions brought each other back from the dead. however, every time they save one another, they end up putting their own lives at risk, such as the one time dean sold his soul to save Sam. In season eight, Sam was trying to close the gates to hell, but completing the trails proved to be too challenging and they almost killed Sam. After stopping the trails, Sam still found himself in critical condition, and eventually ended up in a coma. Sam's pending death made Dean super sad, so he made a deal with an angel (thinking it was Ezekiel when really it was Gaderial) that allowed the angel to enter Sam's body and act as a life support. In the end, breaking this promise was harmful for everyone involved (especially Kevin).

Heregoesnothin

"Just do it," She whispered, the look in her eye told  me she she did not want to go through with this. She grimaced, we both knew this was the only option left.

I nudged the gum stuck in her hair slightly, then looked at the peanut butter and cup of ice that sat next to us on the counter. "Are you sure you do not want to try something else?" I suggested, biting my lip. We had been trying for hours to get the gum out of her hair, yet the glob sat unharmed by our prodding. 

She crossed her arms and leaned back in her chair, "It is no use. Just get the scissors." She rolled her eyes, "you might as well just shave it."

The gum was positioned at the top of of her head; the missing chunk would be noticeable and hard to fix. I took the scissors in my hand and lifted the chunk of hair. "Are you sure you do not want to try the ice again?" I offered, weary of the decision we were about to make. 

"Just do it, stop stalling, talking about it is only making things worse."

I sighed, and finally began to cut the gum out of her hair. I tried to cut as little hair as possible, and when i finished I took a step back to inspect my work. While the missing chunk was noticeable, I realized it was fixable. I handed her a mirror, and she looked it over. Before she could complain I began to explain to her how parting her hair a little more to the right could cover the missing chunk. Though she was not happy, she was relieved that their was a solution to her problem. She stayed quite for a moment before muttering "Thanks," then sulking off to her room.
